What Causes Itchy Painful Rashes Around Genital Area?
Question: I have a rash around my genitals, no lesions, however it does feel to be bumpy. Its very itchy, and painful. The rash also is also affecting the lower part of the scrotum, near the "taint" however mainly affects the inner thigh and where the genitals meet. I'm not sure wether or not its just jock itch or what. definitely needs to go away!!

This is jock it or otherwise called a yeast or fungal infection. They are very common in the summer when the weather is hot and people sweat. We have yeast all the time but sometimes with heat and sweat the yeast takes over and causes infection.
There are many jock itch creams and powers that you can buy over the counter. Probably the most effective one is lamisil (terbenafine). You can buy this at the drug store. Use it for 1-2 weeks twice a day until it is resolved. If you see it coming back again or just feel itchy use it again for a few days.
