Tinea cruris

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM..

I read history given by you and saw the photo you posted.

I feel that most probably you may be having tinea cruris. It is caused by fungus dermatophyte. It may be called Ringworm infection. It may be precipitated or exacerbated by wetness,perspiration,soap..etc DM,HIV and other immunocompromised conditions should be ruled out. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.

Drugs like ketoconazole or itraconazole may be taken for about 2 weeks. Anti fungal cream like clotrimazole may be applied. If there is itching, antihistaminics like levocetirizine may be taken.

Soap bath should be avoided. Liquid dettol may be used for bath. Pour few drops in a bucket of water. Keep the area dry. You may be alright in few weeks.

I hope you got my answer...still, any query, you are welcome.

Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back..

You need to consult nearby dermatologist for confirmation of the diagnosis and perfect treatment. He might prescribe cream of clotrimazole like candid or canitross cream along with ketoconazole tab like nizral once a day for 2 to 3 weeks. Avoid soap bath and keep the area dry. You might get good result in few weeks and have regular follow up by your dermatologist.

I hope this would be helpful to you.

Thanks.
