What Causes Irregular Vaginal Spotting Postpartum?
Question: hi
I am a 30 year old female. Gave birth to a child last year. I have been having this problem of pre-menstural spotting since almost 5 years now. Dark brown spotting starts 4-5 days before actual periods start. I also have itching around vaginal walls which gets worse during and for a week after periods.
I also feel same kind of itching and discomfort in my eyes which tends to increase during periods and after periods. I somehow feel the infection in my eyes follow the same pattern as vagina.
I want to understand if there can be relation between these two.

The dark brown spotting that you have can be due to change in the bleeding pattern after childbirth. This is a normal physiological variation. This is not related to any pathology.
The itching of eyes and vagina only during the periods can be related to dryness associated with hormonal changes. It can be controlled with regular use of artificial tears in eyes and using a vaginal wash like Intiwash vaginally.
Also, it is best to get a vaginal swab culture and PAP smear done to rule out any pathology.
