Brief Answer:
Not to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

It is normal for the menstrual cycles to alter slightly after tubal ligation. As long as you do not have any inter-menstrual bleeding, foul smell or pain, you need not worry.

Yet, it is suggested that you should have a check up by a gynecologist once-a-year to see if everything is fine. A trans-vaginal sonogram and a pap smear if needed are also ideal at every visit.

Scanty menstruation is suggestive of declining endometrial surface. This can happen naturally, due to hormone deficiency, due to infection and adhesion formation inside the uterus thus causing shrinkage of the surface. The exact reason can only be known by a clinical exam, sonogram, hysterosalpingogram and hormonal profile.

Please maintain a healthy diet and a healthy weight.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
