Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Sorry you are having trouble.

What do you mean that you have irregular heart beats - do you mean your heart is racing or you have palpitations, or have you checked your pulse and feel skipped beats?

What tests did they do in the ER:
Repeated blood tests for cardiac enzymes and troponin?
EKG?
Cardiac monitoring?

Did you have an irregular heart rate while in the ER?

Also, please tell me if you are having chest pain since then, or shortness of breath or light headedness when you have the irregular heart beat.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Information on tachycardia

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

If your heart is beating faster than 100 beats per minute (by checking your pulse) and/or is accompanied by light headedness, fainting, chest pain, or shortness of breath, then you should go back to the ER.

Otherwise you can wait to see your doctor.

Rapid heart rate with occasional palpitations can be caused by a number of things that are not a problem with the heart, such as stimulant medications (decongestants, asthma medicines), drugs, problems with the thyroid gland, and anxiety. Anxiety and panic can often cause tachycardia.

If you go into urgent care clinic, while you are having the tachycardia, they can assess what is going on. And since this is a new symptom, having happened after you went to the ER, it is worth going in to see.

Ok

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

If you develop light headedness or chest pressure or shortness of breath with the fast heart rate and if your heart rate is over 100 then don't wait to be seen.

Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon.
