default
Posted on Wed, 25 Jan 2017
Question: I have pain under my left rib on and off. Comes and goes and it will hurt when i walk or run and then goes away. Not sure what this could be. Just got blood tests back but what else do you recommend. It feels full most of the time.

Also Lots of post nasal drip. and when i lay down for bed my throat tightens up. I have anixety as well especailly health anxiety. So i get concerned easily about the on going pressure and pain under my rib towards the center. Also i dont have allergies so what could be the reasoning behind the post nasal drip and what can i do to stop it?

Brief Answer:
It could be muscle pull.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

From your description it does not appear that there could be anything seriously wrong with you. Do you have any cough, fever, weight loss etc. If none of these it could be a muscular pain as a result of some strain or muscle pull. You may take a pain killer and apply some analgesic gel. Eat a healthy diet and consult your PCP for some calcium and vitamin D supplements. If pain persists, consult your PCP and get a chest x-ray done.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
You need to consult your PCP and get a chest X Ray done in the first place

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back Dear,

Since you are so worried and your pain is persisting I suggest you consult your PCP so that s/he can examine you. A chest X-ray should also be taken as already mentioned earlier. And yes regarding the post nasal drip, an ENT check-up should also be done .

Your anxiety issues also need to be addressed. I would again want to stress that, do consult your PCP rather than worry. With timely intervention, it'll be a matter of time only to get better.

Take care
