default
Posted on Tue, 21 Mar 2017
Question: Occasionally I have short sessions of dizziness, w ithout nausia. Two days ago I awoke feeling very dizzy and felt like I might throw up. I've been drinking lots of water because I thought it might by dehydration. The feeling is now in its third day, though not as extreme, I have recently had a cranial MRI with negative results. What should I do next?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
A negative MRI rules out major structural problems like a tumor, space occupying lesions , infarction or bleed.
It may be due transient decrease in blood flow to certain areas in the brain or dysfunction of the balance mechanism like the ear and base of the brain.
If it persists it may be a good idea to see an ENT doctor or a neurologist and have yourself examined and tested.
Do get back to me if you have further questions.
