Brief Answer:
Have you had abdominal ultrasound done?
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Have you had any abdominal ultrasound?
Your symptoms are quite characteristic for gallstones. When a stone obstructs bile duct, the stool can become lighter. Urine does not have to be dark.
The pain can disappear when the stone is excreted naturally. If this happens, stool becomes yellow again.
I`m looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.

Hi , thanks for your prompt reply. I originally did think maybe a gallbladder issue , but the doctor I consulted said the color would be ashy or white? I've read so many things I'm at an utter loss trying to figure it out. With some pain on the left side to I wasn't sure if it was possible? I haven't had an abdominal ultrasound since October , this was to check my liver, but nothing suspicious. With health anxiety I'm always believing the worst. Are there other possibilities ? Thanks again.
Brief Answer:
Still stones are possible.
Detailed Answer:
Stool becomes white if the obstruction is complete. Otherwise, in case of partial obstruction, it can be only light yellow, lighter than usually, pale, and not always white. So the doctor was not right.
Ultrasound has to be done for sure. You have mentioned upper right side pain. Its very very characteristic for gallbladder and bile ducts issues pain. In some cases, it may radiate to the back or even to the left side. You never know.
In my opinion, its not cancer or something serious. Stones are most suspicious. Stomach ulcer is possible. You should have ultrasound at first. And gastroscopy secondly.
