Question: I am experiencing extreme insomnia, general body ache, specially sole of my feet, center spine discomfort specially after work, migraine headache with aurore/nausea 1-2 times per month, I am on Viibrid for depressions, blood pressure medication started 3 months ago is Metropolol 50 mg and Lisinopril 5 mg 2 weeks ago, I am 56 years old, 5'3" from 5'5 and my weight is 201 lbs. which I gained from years of taking antidepressants, 15 years ago my weight was 165 lbs., I am always tired, I fell 7 times in 2 years, my gait is unstable sometimes, I just have to adjust the way I walk and sit, I don' smoke, I don't drink alcohol, no illegal drugs either, I have 4 children youngest is 14 years old, I work less now, because of back, legs pain following a full day on my feet. Physical therapy helps 20 weeks a year for treatment, Beside scoliosis, I have Hemangioma of the liver, continuous ringing in the ears, BP range 135-160/ 85-98, I get chest pain at time, in the ER after a 24 hour work-up 3 times in 5 years Doctor always tell me stress or depression. My main problem is no sleeps for 2-3 days then I crash for at 20 hours of sleep following with leg weakness, body ache, I tried sleep aid only 4-5 hours, several nightmares, hallucinations, loud snoring which I did not have this problem before.

I think, in your case, you should try some sedative antidepressant like trazodone or mirtazapine. Mirtazapine could lead to increase in weight and other metabolic side effects like diabetes, so i would prefer trazodone in your case. It is as effective as Viibrid, but give you better sleep as compared to Viibrid (vilazodone).

For hallucination, you can try aripiprazole, because most of other antipsychotic could lead to increase in weight. Rest, you can discuss with your psychiatrist or physician. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
