default
Posted on Tue, 3 Feb 2015
Question: so I have started taking a vitamin D3 supplement on the back of a doctors recommendation. I also take other vitamin supplements without any side effects.Since starting taking the vitamin D3 supplement, I am getting infections in my feet, finger nails and legs. I also do a bit of daily running training .
My question is whether the vitamin D3 suplement could have led to these infections???

Brief Answer:
Vitamin D3 supplement and foot infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

It seems you have developed Athlete's foot (otherwise known as ringworm of the foot)a common dermatophytic fungal infection of the skin ,related to your running programme and consequent foot wetting.
Hypervitaminosis D ( if at all occuring) does not make a person prone to infection.
