Question: 81 year old women with low grade temperature for 24 hours. Blood pressure normal range. However pulse rate has climbed from normal range of 72/84 to 106. What should I do for her.

Hi, Welcome to HCM,

You need to treat the fever By giving Paracetamol or tepid sponging. Give good oral fluids such as water or juices to make sure no dehydration sets in. If persists you need to see a doctor and work for cause of fever. With normalization of temperatures, heart rate should return to Normal
