Brief Answer:
Palpitation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
I am Dr Rishu and would be adressing your query.
Red bull is a blend of vitamins and minerals and have nothing to do with your palpitations however alcohol can be the culprit in your case. Excessive alcohol(Binge) can cause palpitation but as the level of alcohol returns to normal in blood they would settle down.
As per your history you still feel palpitations in your neck.If it would have been alcohol only once levels are normal you should not have experienced palpitations.

Palpitations usually are indicative of either patholgical or physiological problem with heart.
Holter is among one of the three basic tests which should be done to rule out the cause of palpitations.

As your holter is normal i would suggest you to go for the other 2 tests called-
Echo- Cardiac function could be assesed. Regional wall motion abnormality or valvular abnomality can be seen.

Stress test- You are required to run on a tread mill and your heart recording would be captured on screen.Precipitation of any false beat indicate problem with heart.

If all the Three tests are normal then you can rest assure that they are non cardiac in origin.

In that scenario thyroid function test should be done along with serum electrolyte levels. As disturbance in their levels can also cause Palpitaions.

A good advice on whether it is related to heart or not can be given only after extensive invetigations are done.

Please follow up with reports.

Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Yes a binge of alcohol can cause this better termed as 'holiday heart syndrome'.The effect of alcohol on the induction of arrhythmias is dose-dependent. Holiday heart syndrome now most commonly refers to the association between alcohol use and rhythm disturbances, particularly supraventricular tachy arrhythmias in apparently healthy people after taking lot of liquor in small time span.
But again to be on safe side any professional diagnosis can be given only after results of all three tests.

Thanks.
