What Causes High WBC Count?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Nov 2014
Question: I would like some insights into why I have had 3-4 CBC with high WBC, High Neutrophilis Absolute, borderline high Basophilis, high monocytes, high RBC. I currently take methotrexact .9 via injection once a week for what was defined as LUPUS due to massive bone and hip pain and a positive ana test. I have hashimotos and have had a partial thyroidectomy. I talke Folic Acid everyday except injection day and am 50 year old female. I have a cateract in my left eye being corrected in December due to inability to see out of the eye. The Rhumy now thinks we are missing something and therefore is sending me to the Hemo/ONCO next week. Thouoghts.

Brief Answer:
cause of leucocytosis

Detailed Answer:
Good evening mam

Thank you foro writing on health care magic

1. Firstly I would like to know how high are the counts.

2. Do you experience any weight loss or itching

3. How is your appetite?

4. Do you have any low grade fever?

5. What other symptoms did you have other than joint pains?

It is very unlikely for lupus to have such high counts. If you could attach the reports here it could be more helpful. Ana positivity can be there even in normal patients and it can be a part of your hashimotos.

Do let me know these queries and attach your blood reports. Would be happy to help you out further

Take care
