Brief Answer:
If BP remains in high level like this, then there is risk of stroke.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your BP 147/101 is high and if it remains this level there is a risk of stroke.

Triamterene -HCTZ is combination of two diuretics. Low salt diet and life style modifications along with this should be taken. But if still BP remains like this then you may need addition of another group drug along with this to control your BP.

In such case if your were my patient my choice would be Angiotensin Receptor blockers like Olmesartan. This combination might help you to attain good control of BP. This also has additional advantage of giving protection to your heart and kidney against remodelling also.

If you are having high serum cholesterol that also should be controlled with regular statin therapy. Low dose aspirin can be taken along with this if you are in risk group, for protection against stroke and cardiovascular complications.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
