default
Posted on Tue, 2 Sep 2014
Question: My husband is on Lisinopril and Hydrochlor (?..BP medication)....

He is 35 years old and relatively fit.

We just took his blood pressure and it is 175/119, pulse 75. Im really worried. He isn't showing symptoms but is a little freaked out. We took my friends and my own and all ours are fine/normal. We took his twice.

Please advise.

Brief answer....need revision of your blood pressure medications
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
This blood pressure reading is definitely high and it needs a revision of the dose.
There is nothing to get worried.Anti hypertensive medications tend to loose their efficacy over a period of time and they need revision in dose or type of medications as the time progresses.
You must go to ER and get an ECG done to look for any change in that, although he is not showing any symptom.
His blood pressure would settle with changes in dose of medicines.
Make sure that blood pressure is regularly monitored in future.
A proper diet control requiring less salt and regular exercises should be followed.
In case weight is more,it should be shed.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
