Brief Answer: Considerations Detailed Answer: Thank you for sending your question, What is most important to consider in this case is the history of the complete blood count. If you have results available from many years ago this will be very helpful. Blood counts will fluctuate from time to time. We cannot assume that there is any infection or cancer without reviewing the complete history. Also it would be reasonable for a pathologist to review the blood smear to see if there are any atypical-looking cells. A 4 mm nodule is very small and generally We would recommend checking a CT scan again in about 6 months to see if the nodule is stable. Regarding fatigue I am not sure how to explain that at this point. Sometimes it may be associated with blood loss during menstruation. It would be reasonable to check a complete blood count again in about 4-6 weeks. If the count remains elevated then additional more sophisticated testing can be requested. Thanks again for sending the question. Let me know if I can be of any additional assistance. Dr. Galamaga
