Brief Answer:
Needs to be investigated

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your friend has Hematuria .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on her problem
1) Does she have any urinary symptoms apart from hematuria?
2) Does she have pain in abdomen or loin?

Hematuria at this age could be either due to one of the following reasons.
1) Infection of the urinary system(UTI)
2) Stone in either kidney or ureter.
3) Tumour in kidney .

She has to undergo following tests to establish the source of bleeding.
1) Routine urine test and urine culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen
3) Intravenous Pyelography
4) C.T Scan of Urinary system with contrast medium.
5) Blood Coagulation Profile

Guidance and advice of a qualified Urologist will be of much help to go in proper direction to establish the cause of her symptoms.Further treatment will depend upon the results of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
