What Causes Heavy Periods After D & C?

Question: i had a d&c about a month ago, and im on day 4 of my period. first 3 days were heavy and bright red thin blood. now, still heavy, bright red, and am starting to clot. is this normal?

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. This is normal.

2. After D&C the endometrial growth varies.

3. Therefore one or 2 months you will have excess flow.

4. Clots might be present.

5. In any case bleeding should not exceed 10 days. If exceeds see your gynecologist.

6.Till then dont worry. If yoy find present flow uncomfortable you can request for tranexamic acid tablets from your doctor which will reduce flow.
