Brief Answer:
Perimenopause could be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Heavy menstrual bleeding with clots maybe due to thickening of the lining of the uterus ( endometrial hyperplasia ), polyps, fibroids, etc.
So please get an ultrasound scan of the uterus and ovaries done, and Pap smear done.
The rest of the symptoms could be due to perimenopause .
That is what I think.
Menstrual irregularity also manifests around perimenopause.
Hormonal blood levels ( FSH, LH, Serum estradiol ) will tell you if that is the case.
So please get that workup done.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.

I have had very heavy menstrual periods since my daughter was born in 2001. I suffered placental abruption. I just turned 36 in July. I dont think im premenopause. I have never had a cycle that was irregular. Now i am bleeding for the 4th time since July 15th. Please don't give a quik answer. I really need you to put some time and thought into ALL of my symptoms. This email and my previous one. I would appreciate it. I ask for you to be diligent in your answer because I am busy taking care of my father full time. He has cancer. I have already been to my doctor and he has disappointed me greatly. So i dont have alot of time to spend seeing doctor after doctor. Please give me a thorough answer and let me know if finding either an obgyn or an endocrinologist will be better. Thankyou. Also my sensse of smell and taste for certain things has changed and my flatulence has a distinct odor. These things have been going on for 6 months or more. Thanku

Brief Answer:
As below

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear.
I have again gone through this question and the previous one, and I assure you that I will be doing my best to guide you on what to do further.
Perimenopause explains ALL your symptoms apart from heavy menstrual bleeding.
As I mentioned, there is a cohort of conditions that can cause heavy menstrual bleeding.
Only investigations can pinpoint what condition it exactly is.
A pelvic ultrasound scan and Pap smear is a must at this point, and hence, a visit to your OB - GYN will be much better, if you have to choose.
Only then will you be able to have an idea of what is going on.
An internal exam is also necessary.
The rest of the symptoms are explained by hormonal imbalance, or perimenopause.
Once your OB - GYN examines you thoroughly, he / she might tell you if a visit to the endocrinologist is in order.
At times, thyroid issues or Vitamin D deficiency also could cause such issues.
So those need to be evaluated.
Depression itself is a leading cause of all the other symptoms, but the bleeding has to be explained by some pathology.
I think a visit to your OB - GYN is necessary as soon as you can do it.
Please feel free to continue the discussion in as much depth as you wish, at any point of time.
Take care.
