default
Posted on Sat, 26 Nov 2016
Question: Hi, I've been having two or more periods a month. heavy bleeding. I also have a distended stomach that has been going on for about two years. I'm getting an endoscopy this november, but I'm concerned that it's possibly a reproductive problem? I get full really quickly, and look like I'm about six months pregnant even if i have a small meal. my clothes don't fit, and I'm just miserable overall.i also experience nausea very frequently.

Brief Answer:
Get ultrasound of uterus and ovaries.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Since how long you have been having this irregular periods? Do you have vaginal discharge?

The causes of such bleeding can be hormonal variations due to stress ( both physical and mental). pelvic infection, endometrial polyp etc.

Please consult gynecologist and get an ultrasound of uterus and ovaries done.
Feeling of bloating, fullness and nausea at this age are unlikely to be due to gynaec cause. Discuss with your doctor. May be you need a lower gastrointestinal endoscopy too.
I hope this is helpful.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
