What Causes Heart Palpitations With Normal ECG And ECHO?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Dec 2014
Question: I am just following on with a few more queries about having palpitations.
I get the odd flutter in my chest sometimes on a daily basis sometimes not at all.
I was able to bring on a palpitation by taking a very large deep breath and holding it then my heart started to go absolutely crazy. It did not have an irregular beat but was going very very fast then suddenly went back to a slower beat. Is this normal? Again ECG's have shown nothing, 24hr monitor nothing, echo nothing and bloods nothing.

I was very happy with the last doctors answer as I do believe I am bringing a lot of these symptoms on myself but I just want to ask all the silly questions and make sure everything is covered.

Also in the long term am I at risk of damaging my heart by having palpitations. I have read that PVC's are common in most people it is just some are more aware of them than others and while they are uncomfortable if there is no underlying issues they are benign.

Look forward to hearing from you
