What Causes Heart Palpitations When Diagnosed With Anxiety?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Oct 2017
Question: Hi there. I was working on my computer and was filling a bit strange, like something is wrong with me. I started feeling my heart beat a little faster. Decided to take my blood pressure and got these readings: 119/98, a few minutes later it kept showing the lower value between 87 and 96. The above value was 136 at most. Could this have been due to anxiety or because of my thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that your symptoms are more of work stress related.

The values which you have mentioned are slightly variable so there is nothing to worry about.

If you do not smoke, you don't have diabetes or hypertension and there is no family history of heart disease then nothing to worry. Just take sone time out for yourself during work shifts and relax your eyes and mind.

I hope this information will be helpful and will relieve your worries.

Kind regards

Hi doctor. Thank you for your answer. I have never been diagnosed with blood pressure. My father and grandmother both have blood pressure, but i think it developed in there late years(my grandmother is 82 and my father is 62, and they are both well). I guess it was stress, can anxiety also cause a deviation in blood pressure? Also, i always wondered if the bp rises when we walk or go out in the park and by how much?
