What Causes Headaches, Chills, Occasional Fever And Fatigue?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: I am experiencing dull pressure, mostly on the middle to lower right side of my head, with intermittent throbbing that lasts a few seconds. It's lasted about 10 days. It responds well to Aleve. There is no nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or blurred vision. I have sight chills and occasional fever with fatigue. Could this be an infection, possibly related to gum disease? I'm a 67-year old female generally in good health.

Brief Answer:
Local infection may cause such symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Headaches you describe may be caused by gum infection if branches of trigeminal nerve are affected too by local inflammation.

Another possible condition that may cause such symptoms is sinusitis.

It is necessary to get evaluated by your primary care Doctor about confirmation or exclusion of these conditions and proper treatment.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Kind regards.
