What Causes Headache With Rashes On Neck?

default
Posted on Tue, 1 Apr 2014
Question: Hi, my name is XXXX and I'm 34. I woke with a pretty bad headache this morning. I have had miagraines and they normally start in my neck and go up. I figured that's what it was. I put my hand on my neck to rub where it was sore and what I felt freaked me out. I'm hoping that maybe you can give me a idea of what I need to do. We haven't changed any detergents, I haven't worn any necklaces recently. Thank You!

Brief Answer: chicken pox Detailed Answer: Hello, I was able to review the pictures attached. Those eruptions seems like chicken pox to me. Presence of headache in the back ground also indicate infective possibility. I would start you on antiviral medication and discourage you being in close contact with friends and family. I suggest that you fix an appointment with a dermatologist soon. He/she can prescribe the antiviral drugs to you. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you

Brief Answer: can be shingles Detailed Answer: Hello XXXXXXX Both chicken pox and shingles are caused by same virus. The skin rash is also same in both cases. Only differentiating point is that shingles is localized to a particular part of body, while chicken pox rash is present on entire body. If this rash remains localized only to your neck, it is shingles. Dont worry it can be easily managed with anti virals, but treatment must be initiated soon. Please meet a dermatologist. Thank you
