What Causes Headache Resulting From Exposure To Cold Weather Long After Head Injury?
Question: Hello Doctor,
My wife met with accident had deep cut in back of head around 2 inch and left side forehead 1inch cut. CT scan done and stitches have done. Last week stitches are removed and heal the wound. Now she is getting head pain in due to cold temp. After wearing woollen cap feeling good due to heat. Forehead (where had injury) slightly swelling and feeling head heaviness even though wearing woollen cap.
Anti Inflammation tablets are given for 20days in the last week. Apart from that from last month she is been taking thyronorm table due to hypothyroidism. Is there any correlation thyroid and head injury. Post head injury symptoms are these ? how long, what can be done to prevent and cure further.

What about the CT Head?Was it normal.
Further to your queries,
Head injury and Thyroid disorder are not related.
She must be having some post traumatic inflammation.However,she does not need regular anti-inflammatory medicines now.She should take Non steroidal anti inflammatory medicines on sos basis(that means-only at the time of moderate to severe headache).
She should do regular mental relaxation like meditation/yoga.She will improve soon.
This should not carry a long term effect.So,nothing preventive is needed.
