What Causes Hard Swelling In Pubic Area?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Jun 2015
Question: I have a firm bump on the back of my pubic mound and I'm wondering if it's a swollen lymph node. Its very firm on the skin surface and seems to be imbedded in my skin. If I pull my skin it will move right along with it. Does this sound like a lymph node or something else?

The photos may be misleading. I foolishly attempted to pop it and only blood and clear liquid came out, most of the skin irritation is due to that attempt. As you can see from the second photo the lump moves wherever I move the skin, it does not move independently. I also read that superficial groin lymph nodes are under the abdominal wall, this lump feels like it's right under the skins surface. Would that indicate it's something else?

It is folliculitis

Thanks for providing clinical photograph. The lesion is due to folliculitis(infection of hair follicle). It is not common site for occurrence for lymph node swelling .
