What Causes Hard Lump Near Nipple?

Question: My 11 year old daughter has a hard lump close to the outside of her left nipple under the skin. She is not shown any signs of development at this point. She just turned 11.

From your description it looks more like normal breast enlargement which happens at this age called thelarche. It could also be due to infection. If it is painful and skin over the lump is red and warm it points more towards infection.

Otherwise if the skin overlying lump is normal don't worry.

But even then I would suggest you show her to your nearby doctor for confirmation.
