What Causes Hair Loss?

Question: 20 year old female with: History of hair loss for the past two years. More prominent on the frontal aspect of the scalp.
On medication for PCOS for the past two years.

Normally medication for PCOS does not cause hairfall .

Can you tell me exactly which medication is she on?

Also is she having bald areas?

Any dandruff or infection present ?

Here are my further replies/DATA for you.

Can you tell me exactly which medication is she on?

Answer: Diane-35 for PCOS for two years prescribed by her Gynaec

Also is she having bald areas?

Answer: No, nothing prominent, but she is worried

Any dandruff or infection present ?

Answer: Yes, Dandruff she has.

Any change in living area or profession in past two years ?

Answer: Yes - she completed her 12th/PUC and had taken up MBBS - somewhat
stressful studies - and hectic schedules - not much physical exercises and relaxation- May be reasonably stressed out

Also can you upload a picture of the scalp so that i have a better idea.

Answer: There is nothing like the scalp - Anyway, we can upload her head-frontal portion - how do we do that ? Thru submitting more reports section ??

Yes it can be due to dandruff.

Yes it can be due to dandruff.

I will advise her to be started on anti dandruff shampoo NIZORAL.

Once the dandruff reduces the hair fall will also go.

She should also take multivitamin tablets.

Healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables and exercise is needed.

Reduce stress and good sleep is also necessary.

She should not bath in hard water.

Diane 35 does not cause hairfall.
