Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to a viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query. Possibly your husband is suffering from a viral infection. The resultant weakness could be responsible for his frequent passage of urine. Give him ORS (oral rehydration solution) and not just plain water. ORS can help in controlling dehydration. I would not recommend giving ice water. Give paracetamol or acetaminophen to bring down the temperature when needed.

If his urinary output is adequate he would not need to go to hospital but if his tongue is dry and his urine interval has increased, it would be a good idea to visit a hospital in order to get proper hydration in the form of IV fluids (only required if oral intake is inadequate).
