Brief Answer:
Sleep aids are of course much better than sleep deprivation

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. In my opinion these sleep aids are not the main culprit for your frequent visits to the toilet at night, and those visits are more likely to be due to your prostate.

Although you have not mentioned anything about your prostate sir, I am assuming you never had any issues with it prior to this. But prostate enlargement is an age-related condition in men above the age of 50 years. The enlargement of the prostate results in increased nocturnal urination which is what you are experiencing. There are of course other symptoms also like:

+Dribbling (urinary)
+Poor stream of urine
+Having to wait for a while before urine is passed
+At times pinkish colour of urine or blood in urine
+Increased number of visits to the toilet
+Only small amount of urine passed
+Feeling of incomplete evacuation of urine

I would first recommend an ultrasound to check on your prostate, and/or a DRE (digital rectal examination) to confirm/rule out a prostate enlargement and only then assuming those medications to be the cause for your presentation.

And in response to your question, these aids are much better than sleep deprivation sir. I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you. Please do not hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
