What Causes Frequent Urination And Urge To Urinate?

default
Posted on Sat, 7 Jan 2017
Question: for the past 2 days i have been urinating and having the urge to urinate more often then normal. Sometimes not much comes out even know the urge is strong. 3 times in last 2 days have felt pain in abdomain on lower right side when going to urinate. Upon urinating there is no pain until I finish, when finished all of a sudden very intense sharp pain comes on and some urine is still dripping. The pain is intense and can last 30 -45 minutes then goes away. Walking around seems to help it subside but it is intense while happening. While this has been happening its not every time I urinate. I am also urinating at other times thru day with no problems at all and normal. This started 2 days ago

Brief Answer:
Bladder outlet obstruction with UTI is likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can understand your concern.

Your symptoms are suggestive of infection,BPE (prostate gland enlargement),or some sort of bladder outlet obstruction.
You'll need to see an Urologist for an examination and do the following tests :
1. urine routine and culture.
2. blood routine,creatinine,RBS,LFT,PSA,and platelets.
3. Uroflow rate estimation.
4. ultrasound scan-KUB,with residual urine and a TRUS.

You may send the reports here for an expert opinion.
Wish you well.

As today is a weekend no doctors are available is there something I can do to help not have these attacks until Monday when I can see a doctor or should I go to an emergancy room. It does not happen everytime I urinate but has happened 3 times in 2 days

Brief Answer:
Tests needed to determine cause of symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
If your symptoms are severe, a visit to ER is justified. Otherwise, you drink about ten glasses fluids daily. Try to take an urine alkaliser syrup twice daily. A bladder muscle relaxant does help in most people.
