Detailed Answer:

You didn't mention how long this has been going on, but regardless, I think you need to go in to be seen and have an evaluation.

In addition to an exam, a urinalysis should be done to check for infection and other abnormalities. If there is any sign of infection, it should be sent for a culture and sensitivity. A sensitivity test is where whatever is found on the culture (if the culture is positive for infection) is tested to see which antibiotics are most effective for it.

A complete blood count (CBC) should also be done (to look for infection, anemia), and a chemistry panel too.

In addition, a TSH and free thyroxine can check your thyroid function as a thyroid problem can cause weight loss and fatigue.

Do you have any ongoing health problems and are you taking any medications for these?

Are any of your medications new to you?

How much weight have you lost, and over what period of time?

My boyfriend is experiencing a dull ache in his inner thigh/groin area and more frequent urination. He went to the doctor and had blood work and a urine sample tested...all clear (blood counts were normal, no sign of infection). He is currently taking antibiotics...but if there is no infection...what could it be.

my son is experiencing frequent urination and sudden urges. We had his urine tested a week ago and it was negative, although the initial test strip showed a trace of blood. However, the microscopic view showed no blood. The symptoms are still prosistent and he is beginning to be bothered by it. We were told it could be frequent daytime urination brought on by stress or change; however, he is experiencing neither. He is 5 3/4yrs old and had been potty trained and holding it through the night since 25 months old. We have never had a problem before. Should this be looked into further, could there be other causes rather than assuming it is psychological? The only other thing he has mentioned is that if pressure is applied to the abdomen from just below the belly button to about 4 finger widths down it is painful. Any insight would be appreciated. Also, he was not seen by a urologist.

Hi I am a 24 year old male who suffers from an overactive bladder problem.I have had this problem for 4 and a half years and cannot find a cure to stop the frequent urination at night besides medication ( Xatral ). I have previously been on 2 full courses of Roaccutane ( acne and skin problems ) and wonder if it might have caused the problem. Can anyone recommend a solution to my problem ( natural ) because I need to sort this out soon.
