Brief Answer:
Diagnosis: Urinary tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The symptoms you are experiencing is suggestive of urinary tract infection. Urine analysis and culture is required to confirm the diagnosis. After confining presence of infection, antibiotics like nitrofurantoin will be started. You will need to take antibiotics for 10 days. Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and management.
Meanwhile, drink plenty of water to flush out the bacteria. And take Tylenol if pain or fever develops.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

The most common reason for urinary tract infection is E coli bacteria which migrates from rectum/anal canal to the urethra. Dehydration, Prostrate enlargement can all.be contributory to trigger such infection. So make sure that you remain adequately hydrated. While following up with your primary provider, he/she will do a digital rectal examination to assess for possible prostrate enlargement. Given your age, it is important to rule out prostrate hypertrophy.
