What Causes Frequent Headaches?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Jun 2014
Question: I am facing a consistent issue of frequent headaches since around 1.5 yrs now. I have got myself checked for eyesight, cynus, BP (all are ok) and have tried homeopathic treatment also (to no avail), but the issue has remained unidentified and I continue to struggle with the problem. The frequency of headaches is almost 2-3 times a week, and that too predominantly during weekdays. There is no consistent pattern to the headaches - they could be on either or both sides of the forehead or head and may start at any time. however, more of these are towards the left forehead and start in the evning after around 4-5 pm. let me know if you can be of any help.

Brief Answer:
It could be migraine headache.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms can be due to migraine headaches. They are usually unilateral headaches.

Following precautions may be helpful :-
1.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
2.Avoid lack of sleep.
3.Avoid mental and emotional stress.
4.Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5.Avoid milk products and chocolates.
6.Avoid food which contain MSG.

You can take paracetamol 500mg along with Domperidone 30mg for relief from mild pain. Flunarizine 10mg at night will be helpful in preventing the headaches, , butit should be taken under medical supervision only.

Also get a CT scan of head done.

I hope this is helpful to you.
If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
