What Causes Frequent Episodes Of Loose Stools In An Elderly Person?

Question: at age 80 Im experiencing on a schedule of perhaps 10 day intervals a need to have several bowl movements win a matter of an hour or less with each movement becoming more loose until the last one is almost watery is this condition normal?

More than 10 episodes of loose stools will not be normal under any circumstances.
How long have you been having these symptoms..? you need to be evaluated for this.
I think you probably have chronic gastroenteritis, a condition usually caused by salmonella typhi bacteria. Hence I recommend you to undergo few tests like, stool microscopy, stool culture and sensitivity test, widal test etc to detect exact cause of such loose stools.
