What Causes Frequent Cold And Cough In A Child?

Question: My child is 6 years old and he is always suffuring from cold and cough , his monsytes count is 1 (One) and his Esr is 59. is there is any problem?

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Frequent cold and cough at this age needs to be fully investigated
. Monocyte count is fine. Esr is high which can happen in January diseases including primary complex.
You need to get chest xray and mantoux tests done to rule out primary complex.
If positive it may require treatment for 6 months.
If negative get further tests like IgE.
ThIs is to identify allergy.
One more thing - get flu vaccination done every year.

my doctor is prescribe my child nasorex nasal drop and Romilast L 5 for six week should we continew with it?
