Brief Answer: Possibly dumping syndrome Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare Greetings of the day Dear Ms If the feeling of freezing cold, shivering is inappropriate (these are common when the outside temperature is low) to surrounding atmospheric temperature that is in absence of cold weather, I would like to suggest you the following possibility 1. Dumping syndrome: When the amount of food consumed is large or the glucose load is large, it stimulates excessive release of Insulin and also pooling of fluid in Intestine. It causes manifestation of Hypoglycemia and Hypotension, could manifest with sweating inspite of feeling very cold. 2. Hypothyroidism: Low circulating levels of Thyroid hormone could also have such manifestation I would suggest you to get the following investigation done 1. Fasting and Post prandial Blood sugar level 2. Glycosylated Hemoglobin(HBA1C) 3. Thyroid Profile I would suggest you to following in the meantime which may provide you relief 1. Eat meals slowly taking about 20 - 30 minutes to finish it 2. Small quantity frequent meals 2. Avoid alcohol 3. Avoid caffeinated beverages/carbonated beverages Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you. Take Care Best Regards Dr T Shobha Deepak MBBS,MD
