Question: Dear dr,

My baby is one week to 2 months old. Recently his passing out very smelly gas. Stool was fine until I notice one time which it tyre bed very dark green with some mustard colored( usually is full mustard). It's oso very smelly and sticky.

We are both formula n Breast feeding. However Breast feeding got lesser. Breast pump doesn't work like few weeks ago . There is only milk when baby sucked on the nipple. May I know why is that so?

I recently changed the bottle teats to 2 medium flow hole . Will that affect the stool? How do I know if the teat is suitable ?

Brief Answer:
Bowel Movements

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
the changing stool pattern in infants is not abnormal. Stool can be any color except red, any consistency, and come with any frequency. Stool patterns and stool appearance often changes in babies regardless of diet.
Gas in babies is typically do to swallowed air. Everything must be done to minimize the amount of swallowed air while feeding. The only way to know which teat to use, is simply by trying it. If the baby does well with it, you know you've chosen the correct one.
Nothing you describe is of any major concern. The most important thing is your baby's comfort, and weight gain. As long as the baby is reasonably comfortable, and is gaining appropriate weight, we can be reassured that everything is OK.

Detailed Answer:
The first thing to check is if the lump is being used properly. Ifit is, andolk is still not being produced, it c an be due simply to the fact that the breast is netter stimulated by the baby compared to the pump.

There are no flight restrictions on the baby. A bottle on the takeoff and landing will make the baby more comfortable.
