Hi
I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
From the description, it looks like your son is developing recurrent folliculitis over the scalp.
I would like to have a look at the exact skin lesions. It would be great if you can click some close up pictures of the skin condition and upload them here on this page . You can also mail them at YYYY@YYYY with heading as ref to Dr Geetika Paul .
Also please tell if the lesions are only over the scalp or any other areas also? Any lesions over face or back?
Any associated itching or pain?
What all is he applying over the lesions?
Is he applying oil over them?
Since when does he have this problem?
I am sure I will be able to help you more once you provide me the above details and the pictures .
Waiting for your response

Superficial skin infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have seen the attached pictures .
Your son seems to be developing lesions of impetigo contagiosum .
It is basically a bacterial infection of the skin seen mainly in young children .
He should avoid application of any creams or oils over body .
You need to apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the affected areas twice a day .
Do not apply any other body creams or moisturizers . Apply the medicine after taking bath twice a day . Wear cotton clothes so as to decrease sweating .
I am sure this will help in preventing recurrent development of such lesions .
He should avoid touching the lesions since the fluid that exudes from the lesions is infective in nature and leads to development of more such lesions wherever it comes in contact with.
Hope it helps
Please ask if you need any further clarifications
