Question: Hello... For a couple of days I've felt a fluttering and movement ( almost like moving gas) inside my rectum. No pain at all .. It's like a spasm I'm guessing. I couldn't sleep last night because it kept continuing most of the night . I do have IBS. Any idea what it could be?? Thx!!!

Brief Answer:
Difficult to tell at this time. maybe excess gas from food!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for contacting healthcare magic.

I have reviewed your information. I do not think there is any systemic or organic cause for this at this time. I think this is probably related to excess gas production which often occurs when many different food types are consumed at the same time. This normally stops as thefood gets digested and is eliminated. To me, I suggest that you do nothing and observe only. If something else like pain, diarrhea, constiptaion, etc. comes up or this gas continues being persistent, we will want to investigate further.

In all, nothing worrisome at this time though difficult to establish exact cause. Monitoring is what we need at this time for a clearer picture.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me and ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

i have had 2 very solid compacted bowel movements in past 3 weeks. i was recently in the hospital they gave me everything you can name. nothing worked. i took enema and whole box of laxative in 3 days, nothing worked. so i went back to the hospital, for them to send me home with a gallon of peg 3350 and mag citrate. what do i do if that didnt work either and my stomach has been huge for weeks and this stuff made it even bigger. need medical advice ASAP. in extreme amounts of discomfort. ive been thinking also a possibility of pregnancy, i had my last period about a month ago, havent had sex in between. i assumed the hospital would take a test, but they asked me when my last period was and i said i just had it so im thinking maybe they didnt. maybe i got my period and am pregnant. ive been thinking this for over a month now but in the first 2-3 weeks i had 2 negative tests, was suppossed to return to dr. for another one 2 weeks later and never did. VERY confused and concerned.

My 17 year old daughter has struggled with sever abdominal pain, constipation and severe rectal pain since she was 7 or 8 years old. The other day she had a terrible episode that left her screaming for help. She stated the pain was sharp in her rectal and went up to the pelvic area. Soon after the pain started she made a bowel movement and the pain subsided. When she was younger she saw many doctors who didn't seem to know what the problem was, but somehow she was given the diagnosis of IBS. We do not believe it is IBS - what type of doctor should she see to try to find out the cause? I need to know the type of specialist, thanks!

I have a feeling right above my anus that is like pressure/sitting on something. It gets better and worse with movement. I have no urinary or bowel symptoms such as constipation, straining, incontinence, rectal bleeding. My bowel movements are normal. Occasionally I have a feeling of pressure in my vagina. Could this be a rectocele or a fibroid? I have had these symptoms for about 4 weeks. Digital rectal exam showed no mass, bleeding, hemorrhoids or fissures. Sometimes I have a sensation of trickling fluid in my rectal area, but nothing drains from my rectum or vagina.

Um, I'm not quite sure exactly how to begin. Talking about a recent problem I've been having is just rather humiliating. But I think I need help with it as some of the symptoms are consistant with colon cance, which runs in my family.

Can you help with rectal/anal/colon problems?

I have had a couple of incidents where skin protrudes from my anus after having a bowel movement. I have spoken with my P.C.P. about it. She called it a reticulated rectum I believe. Is it something I should pursue with a specialist, or should I...
