What Causes Flesh-colored Mole On Collarbone?

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Sep 2015
Question: I had a flesh-colored mile pop up on my collar bone (it was previously flat for many months, but over a couple of days it became raised). Today it feels crusty and bleeds if I try to scratch at some of the crust (though it is not itchy). Should I check it out? I am 31 years old with no previous dermatologic issues and fair skinned (blonde hair, blue eyes). I have a few other darker-colored raised moles that I have had as long as I can remember...

Brief Answer:
You must get it reviewed

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone throuh your query and I have understood it.

You must get it checked since it has recently become raised and crusty. Any change in size, shape, margins, color Or surface etc in a mole Or a mole that looks different from the rest of body moles i.e "Ugly Duckling Sign" could be a sign of it turning into a melanoma and therefore I suggest you to get it reviewed as soon as you can specially considering that you are a fair skinned, blue eyed individual.

Regards
