Question: Hello, I have a 2yr old daughter. She has had a fever the night before last 103.7, and 2 days before that. She complained her tummy hurt. Today I have noticed little red bumps around her mouth and a few on her nose. and now they are on the sides of her torso.
She is overall very healthy. She has only had one urine infection in the past as far as health issues. She eats very healthy. Dont' know what this may be

Brief Answer:
Information.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Without being able to examine her, I can only say some of the probable causes.

Chickenpox (a herpes virus: varicella) can cause red bumps after cold/flu type symptoms.

Roseola is another cause of a rash that follows a fever (usually a high fever, as your daughter had). It's also caused by a herpes virus.

Strep throat can cause a high fever and then a rash. It is a bacterial infection and is treated with an antibiotic. If she has had any a sore throat, she should be checked with a throat swab because of the risk of complications from this infection.

Enteroviruses can cause fever, rash, and gastrointestinal symptoms.

But her tummy hurting may also be from the ibuprofen she has had.

While this may be a self-limiting, passing problem due to a virus, I recommend you take her in to see her doctor (and not a PA or NP) to make sure it is not something that needs addressing now (such as strep).

I hope this information helps.
