What Causes Feeling Stye On The Inside Of My Top Eyelid?

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Apr 2014
Question: Hi I've had what I think is a stye on the inside of my top eyelid for over a week. It was small and seemed to go away after a day of warm tea bag compresses, but then about five days ago, it was back and giant and the whole left side of my face was swollen. I felt nauseated and vomited for one day but didn't have a fever and felt better the next day. The eyelid is still very swollen and there is clearly a whitish area slightly smaller than a dime in the inside of the lid, but no signs of coming to a head any time soon. I felt better yesterday, but today I am back to listless nausea and have been vomiting through ought the day and can't even keep water down. I am unemployed and uninsured and terrified. What should I do?

Brief Answer: This is internal hordeolum. Detailed Answer: Hello Welcome to health care magic I went through the history and the photograph attached with the question. This shows internal hordeolum of the left upper eyelid. Internal hordeolum causes more severe inflammation than stye or external hordeolum. The treatment of the condition is by use of oral analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotic eye ointments. Applying hot compression to the local swollen area provides symptomatic relief. Nausea and vomiting as mentioned in the history is not caused by stye or internal hordeolum but can be seen in severe inflammations. You can consider oral antibiotics also along with the oral analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotic eye ointments. Usually I prefer to use oral analgesics like diclofenac sodium daily once or twice and broad spectrum antibiotic eye ointments like ciplox eye ointment for treatment of internal hordeolum. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for prescription of drugs. Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you. Thank you
