What Causes Feeling Of Soft Consistency Around Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am 16 weeks pregnant. Since 2-3 days I am feeling that my lower abdomen is not as hard as it used to be. Now I am not able to feel the uterus as much as I could feel till last week. I dont have any bleeding or spotting. During previous scan (NT scan) done three weeks back, everything was told to be going fine except that the placenta is low.
I would also like to mention that I am suffering from cough since last two weeks and have been taking Dabur Honitus and steam inhalation for it. But there is not much relief.
This is making me worried. Please help.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
The hard feeling which you feel previously maybe due to placenta situated in the lower segment of the uterus,now with growing uterus,it moves in upper uterine segment and uterus feel soft in consistency not as hard as previously.
As you are not having bleeding and pain,their is no need to worry about it.( scan before 3 weeks was normal) .
But if you are not comfortable with the finding you can consult with your Gynecologist and get yourself examined and see for foetal heart beat.
