What Causes Feeling Of Skin Tag On Vaginal Wall After A Surgical Abortion?

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Jul 2015
Question: Hi- I had a surgical abortion performed 7 days ago. I can feel a skin tag or a small flap of skin on my vaginal wall. This was not present before the procedure- could this be where local anaesthetic was injected or something of concern. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Please attach a photograph

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Injection of local anaesthetic usually do not causes skin tag or raised lesions after 1 week. It will be helpful to make a diagnosis of you can attach a photograph.
It can be a wart, or a skin growth. Is it painful, itchy or bleeding? Is associated vaginal discharge present?
Please do get back to me with the information, if feasible.

I am unable to attach a photo as it is actually in my vagina internally- high up. There is no pain, itch or anything. It just feels like my vaginal wall but it is raised and almost feels like a scab.

Brief Answer:
Likely due to instruments

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX thanks for responding. If it is high in vagina ans the surface is vaginal wall only, then it can be due to abrasion from the instruments used to retract vaginal walls in the process of surgical abortion. It will heal with time.
I suggest you to wait for 6 weeks and then 're examine the are. If the vaginal lesion is present even then also, then do consult your OBGYN specialist for proper examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Please do get back for further queries.
