What Causes Fatty Liver?

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Sep 2016
Question: My nephew has battled digestive problems for approx. 6 years. He has constant diarrhea and stomach pain/discomfort. He has his gall bladder removed and has been dx with fatty liver disease. His labs are normal. He has had endoscopy and colonoscopy. R/O Celiac , Chrons, IBS, and Colitis. Recently he started taking a probiotic (Actbiotic) and he said his symptoms have improved by 80-90%. What could be the cause of this "fatty liver" and shy would probiotics help? Who is the best doctor to go to and make sure that he has a correct dx?

Here are answers to your questions.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

Coming straight to answer to your question, Fatty liver is a very very common finding in overweight people if your nephew is overweight this is really common finding, even if he isn't over weight but has a sedentary life style of takes junk or high sugar food quite often this can cause fatty liver.

Simple and effective way to get rid of fatty liver issue is to change life style, use high protein diet which is now in carbohydrates and exercise.
Just reducing weight is sometimes not effective..Her I also want to mention that fatty liver usually is not a dangerous condition by itself for liver of life but obesity accompanying it can be dangerous.

Pribiotics have healthy bacteria which helo in digestion so they help in controlling diarrhea by helping in effective digestion of food.

Best doctor for this problem is a gastroenteologist and a nutritionist.
