What Causes Fatigue, Headaches And Chest Cold?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Jun 2015
Question: Recently, I have been experiencing extreme fatigue, headaches and cold in chest. I have asthma and have been diagnosed with pleurisy in the past. Lately. as well, my left ankle has begun swelling to the point it is uncomfortable to wear a regular shoe. An x-ray found some arthritis but I was told that would not account for the swelling I was having in one foot. I have also had inflammation in my stomach, small intestine and colon with no diagnosis of Chron's Disease or any similar disease after having several procedures done. I had a negative Rheumatoid factor. My last ESR was in normal limits but have had elevated ones in the recent past and years past. I have also had elevated hemocrit levels and low leukocytes levels. Other blood work was recently all over the place a few weeks ago later to be in the normal range again. I feel tired and sick all the time. Any suggestions? I was recently given a ANA test. It came back positive - high with a titer of 1/160 for homogenous and speckled type. Could this test shed some light on what is going on with me.

Thanks for writing on health care magic

Well, I would like to sum up your symptoms: Fatigue and headaches/ History of Left ankle arthritis/History of low Lecuocyte counts..

I would like to ask you a few more details before commenting on it further as ANA can be positive in 7-10 % population, but if it is causing symptoms we need to co relate

1. Do you experience any dry eyes or dry mouth

2. Any history of oral ulcers/hair fall

3. Any history of Thyroid Disorder

4. How low was the leucocyte count

5. Do you get proper sleeps at night?

6. Any time you feel you have become short tempered or irritable and have increased tendency for forgetfullness?

7. Any history of bluish discolouration of fingers on cold exposure

8. How is the bowel condition now???

Your ANA is significantly positive, but as mentioned it can be positive in 7 % Of the normal population. One needs to get AN ENA profile done( that is it checks further antibodies in the ANA. But if you could let me know these symptoms, I will be able to guide you if it is pathological or something else we are dealing with.
