What Causes Fatigue And Tender Lymph Nodes In Groin When Diagnosed With Spondylolisthesis?

Question: I was just diagnosed with L 4,5 spondylytheliosis. At the same time that my lower back pain became severe, i also developed fatigue, tender lymph nodes esp in groin, some dizziness and feverishness. The 6 day steroid course and meloxicam i was prescribed helped for the first two days but now, on Day 3, I feel bad again. My doc had blood drawn but i dont have results yet. I had both hip joints replaced in the past eight months. What could be going on? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Infection or inflammation likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The fatigue and tender lymph nodes in the groin are likely to be due to an infection or inflammation in the area. It is not likely to be related to spondylolisthesis or the hip replacements that you had.
The blood test and an FNAC of the lymph node will help in exact diagnosis. Till then you can do a hot compress in the area and continue taking meloxicam. This will help in giving you a symptomatic relief. Oral antibiotics may be needed for complete relief after proper diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query.

thank you very much, this is helpful. Is it possible I contracted something when I had the transfusion of two units of packed red cells after my February surgery? What about hepatitis? I have read varying reports that transfusions result in hepatitis B at a rate of either one in 205,000 or one in 800,000.
Thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
Not likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
You had packed red cells transfused 6 months ago. It is least likely to cause hepatitis and the lymph node swelling in groin now.
It is best to wait for the blood test results and get an FNAC done for proper diagnosis.
Hope my answer is helpful.
