Brief Answer:
Adverse effect of medicines, will go away

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
Haldol depot is haloperidol deconate injections used monthly for schizophrenia and psychosis and 100 mg is the maximum limit and not to be exceeded. Now that facial mask like appearance and puffiness is one of the adverse effects of this medicine as part of the weight gaining. And yes it will go away once you stop the drug. Also procyclidine can do that too usually from gums swelling which is adverse effect of procyclidine. That goes away too
Haloperidol is Dopamine receptor antagonist and it antagonizes dopamine D1 and D2 receptors in brain; depresses reticular activating system and inhibits release of hypothalamic and hypophyseal hormones.
On the other hand procyclidine is usually used for parkinsonian effects and is basically an antimuscarinic drug used to reduce acetylcholine which increases as an adverse effect of the haldol medicines, once dopamine antagonised, acetylcholine increase, game of neurotransmitters.
In nutshell, no worries, you are on the right medicines and keep taking them, everything will be back to normal.
Consult your psychiatrist for further details and management. Discuss the side effect of facial puffiness with them and see if they come up with a better plan.
I hope it helps. Don't forget to close the discussion please.
Take care
S Khan
