In my practice, I normally like recommending an over the counter hydrocortisone cream along with an antibacterial. There are many different brands and preparations.. But one of the more famous ones is Neosporin - H (The H stands for Hydrocortisone, a steroid). When that is applied to the injuries it should bring down the irritation and inflammation allowing your skin to heal without scarring.
